Meditation: First and Last Step – From Understanding to Practice

Meditation: First and Last Step – From Understanding to Practice

Meditation is a method with which man becomes completely realized and present in existence, in all dimensions, even in this physical reality; truly unconditioned and authentically himself.

In this book, you will find everything you need for the practice of meditation, the way the oldest and greatest authorities, Buddha and Patanjali, presented.

They left a legacy for humankind that we can all benefit from. We also cover the purpose of meditation: why man needs it, why it is so appealing to spiritually mature people, and its relationship with the soul.

Unlike other practices of meditation that deal with the mind only (mantra), or with the body only (yoga), or with emotions only (bhakti) - often leading to discrepancies that have to be adjusted through rituals and beliefs - the practice of meditation presented here encompasses all of these dimensions of man in one harmonious unit.

You will discover that a human being is composed of all the dimensions of nature; a human being is a microcosm, and therefore meditation is complete only when man becomes aware of all these dimensions, not just his body and mind. This meditation is inherently complete and does not require any support in the form of ideological and religious preconceptions.

The purpose of meditation relates to the meaning of man's existence and consciousness of his soul; what we were before birth in this body and what we will be after death. Meditation is the connection with consciousness of the soul, the divine consciousness within us and that enables everything, including all of nature.

In order to understand this connection between the mind and the divine consciousness of our soul, we discuss here how the spiritual sense of meditation is connected with the latest scientific discoveries regarding the essence of nature.

You will learn how consciousness of your soul is related to the quantum field and the physics of ether - the same physics that Nikola Tesla used in order to create the base of all modern technology.

You will discover non-Hertzian frequencies, and in what way they are related to our thoughts and the creative effect thoughts have on matter; consequently, you will be intrigued to learn that special powers (siddhi) are actually the effect of the non-Hertzian frequencies of the quantum mind’s awareness on the physical, Hertzian frequencies.

The philosophy of Advaita Vedanta on the subject of unity of everything is well-known; our essence (Atman) is actually the Absolute (Brahman). Instead of mechanically repeating this, like some kind of magic formula, we reveal on the pages of this book the process necessary to enable this unity; in reality there is no such thing as a multitude of subatomic particles, but only one single 'divine particle' that keeps vibrating in the present moment, much faster than light, in accordance with the principles of fractal geometry and the golden section.

Here, to us, it seems that there are plenty of particles, objects and phenomena. These vibrations create energy, and existence is essentially pure energy. Bearing in mind that that one particle is a reflection of the divine consciousness, everything is essentially pure consciousness.

You will see all of the evidence pointing to the fact that consciousness is not in the body; our body only uses the divine consciousness, which is the essence of nature itself. Our brain does not produce consciousness, it merely slows down the velocity of the current divine consciousness that enables everything, so it is slow enough to become our reality, taking on the appearance of matter divided in space and time.

You will discover that with the help of meditation, you will become aware of the higher dimensions through out-of-body experiences and in your dreams, and the way in which these experiences relate to empathy, bringing you emotional maturity that bonds you with unity and the divine consciousness, here in reality.

In short, this book makes the connection of the earliest spiritual knowledge with that of the latest scientific evidence; the accompanying manual on how to apply this wisdom to yourself and your everyday life will enable a sense of purpose, through the realization of your sense of existence.

About the Book

Meditation is a method with which man becomes completely realized and present in existence, in all dimensions, even in this physical reality; truly unconditioned and authentically himself.

Only with meditation can man start to truly exist and free himself from the illusion that he started to exist with physical birth, free himself of the illusion of the physical body.

In this way, he brings the consciousness of his soul, which he had before his birth, to full existence during his physical life. That is the true aim of meditation. In this book, we will see all of the details of this accomplishment.

Meditation or contemplation is a method which awakens a man to reality in an accelerated way; or more precisely, a method by which the illusion of time is removed, the illusion during which we imagine that we are something else, and not what we are in reality – that we are separated from the highest reality.

With meditation, man is harmonized with reality. Harmonizing with reality is the teaching and the practice of meditation.

Meditation means merging with consciousness of the soul – which we had before being born into the body and which we will have after the death of the body. That is why it is so attractive to people with mature souls; with even the slightest hint of what meditation brings, it gives enormous energy and inspiration for further practice.

Meditation brings a systematic awareness which otherwise would never happen. Only in the consciousness of the Absolute does awareness of itself take place, resembling the awareness experienced by man who is in deep meditation, in samadhi.

The man in meditation repeats the essential awareness of the Absolute according to which everything exists; he makes his way back to the original divine consciousness. But since he could never be outside of it, because it is everything that is, the returning in question is experienced only as a revival and awakening.

The practice of meditation presented here is based on the texts from Patanjali’s Yoga Sutra, (YS), Buddha’s Great Speech on the Foundations of Mindfulness (Mahasatipatthâna sutta) and Brief Speech on Emptiness (Culasunnata sutta, M. 121); instructions for sitting in the zen meditation by Yasutani-roshi (Haku’un Yasutani, 1885-1973) and my personal experience in meditation over the last 40 years.

"Awesome step-by-step review and explanation of dhyana (meditation) using Patanjali's Yoga sutras and Buddhist meditation descriptions. I wish this book had been available 20 years ago when I started vipassana meditations: public courses often lack in-depth explanations or are reluctant to divulge too much too soon, which discourages the beginner from seeing the progression to deeper states where determination and perseverance would lead. I did not find this too dogmatic, instead the author pares down his method to the essentials while elaborating on key concepts as needed. A must-have book in anyone's spiritual library. "

"Ivan Antic has managed to do the unimaginable: to convey the original teaching on meditation of both Buddha and Patanjali, to best depict their in common essence and present it in a modern way, through a direct experience and with a myriad of personal insights. This book is a great example of how the experience of the author communicates well with the experience of the readers."

"I have read all the books of Ivan Antić. I consider this book as his magnum opus. Meditation is the means to achieve our goal of life that is Moksha, liberation. The author writes out of his 37 years of meditative life. It is not a theory. It is a well tested practice that yielded enriching fruits to many. I recommend this book to all who are interested to achieve the ultimate purpose of our life, that is freedom from birth and death, Eternal Peace, and Bliss. Ivan is a natural mystic beyond the confines of religious dogmas. His way of writing is superb and sublime!"

"The explanations are so original that I certainly did not find anything like this on the subject. The author seeks to associate quantum physics with the theme of the soul and the practice of meditation. It is difficult to achieve this by not repeating the familiar and thus insulting the intelligence of the reader. This is achieved here. Excellent work."
– Linda Johnson, reviewer from Amazon.com site
"I did not expect such a range of topics and the wealth of explanations. The author relies heavily on the sources of meditation practice, which are Patanjali and Buddha. However, he has given so many of his insights throughout the whole story, which really match the sources. He has linked the story of the soul with the meditative practice in a truly unique way. It is especially commendable that he did not invade religious influences, on the contrary, he insists that there's no space for religious affiliation in meditation. Quite right, he says that meditation is a mental hygiene and awakening practice."

"Although I have been meditating for a long time, only now, some important things are clear to me. Thank you."
